
Quetta announces Quetta Gladiators PSL 11 retained players. The Quetta Gladiators have officially announced the list of players they will retain for the upcoming 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), locking in key talents as they prepare for the league’s first‑ever player auction on February 11, 2026.
Under the revamped PSL retention rules, franchises are now allow to keep up to four players. With one selection from each of the major categories Platinum, Diamond, Gold, and Emerging. This change comes as the league transitions from a draft system to a full auction‑based player selection process.
For PSL 11, the Gladiators have chosen:
- Abrar Ahmed as their Platinum pick, bringing spin bowling prowess to the forefront.
- Usman Tariq retained in the Diamond category.
- Hassan Nawaz secured from the Gold group.
- Shamyl Hussain retained in the Emerging category to nurture fresh talent.

The franchise opted not to retain any player in the Silver category this season. Quetta’s retention strategy reflects a blend of experience performers and promising young talent. Positioning the side for competitive bidding at the auction and a strong campaign in PSL 11 — which is scheduled to begin on March 26, 2026, with matches set to be played across multiple cities including Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, and debut host city Faisalabad.
Retention rules have also been tighten. In the first 10 PSL seasons, franchises were allow to retain up to eight players. Under the updated PSL 11 framework, each team can now keep only four players, spread across categories.
