To support Kharif season crops, the Punjab government has announced ₨75 billion in interest-free agricultural loans under the Kisan Card Scheme.
Key Highlights of the Kisan Card Initiative
Amount Increased
The interest-free loan limit has now been raised from ₨1.5 lakh to ₨3Lakh.
New Targe by Program
The number of Kisan Cards will be increased from 500,000 to 750,000.
Eligibility Expanded:
Farmers owning up to 25 acres of land can now apply for the Kisan Card.
Funds Allocation:
- 30% for fertilizers
- 20% for diesel purchase
No More Charges
All processing and service charges have been eliminated.
