Bad News Islamabad earthquake According to seismic monitoring authorities, the earthquake struck at 6:35 PM with its epicenter located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. The earthquake originated at a depth of 178 kilometers, which allowed the tremors to be felt across a vast area of Pakistan.
The tremors were reported in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as well as in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Okara, Lahore, Mianwali, Chakwal, and Jhang. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, residents of Shangla, Buner, Mardan, Charsadda, Swat, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Malakand, Bajaur, and Hangu also experienced the earthquake.
The shaking was strong enough to briefly disrupt activities in Peshawar, where the provincial assembly session was suspended for five minutes. Tremors were also felt in Lower Dir, South Waziristan, Wana, Diamer, and several areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Muzaffarabad and Neelum Valley.
