The announcement was made through a press release issued by the Cabinet Division.

The decision, approved by the Prime Minister, applies to all government offices following both five-day and six-day work weeks. This extended break will allow citizens to fully observe the religious festival and spend time with their families.
The Cabinet Division has directed all major English and Urdu newspapers as well as electronic media to give this notice wide publicity. The notification has also been forwarded to key government offices and departments, including federal ministries, security agencies, judiciary, and provincial governments, to ensure smooth implementation.
Eid-ul-Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant Islamic holidays, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command.
