The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a temporary suspension of gas supply in several areas of Karachi from the morning of July 28th to the morning of July 29th. The disruption aims to improve gas pressure for industrial, commercial, and domestic consumers by integrating a new pipeline into the system.

Karachi Faces Gas Supply Suspension: Key Areas Affected from Sunday to Monday

According to a press release issued by the SSGC spokesperson, the company will connect a 31-kilometer-long, 24-inch diameter transmission pipeline to the existing network on Sunday. As a result, gas supply will be halted in multiple areas across Karachi from 5:00 AM on Sunday, July 28th, until 5:00 AM on Monday, July 29th.

The affected areas include several key regions in Karachi. Residents and businesses in Surjani Town, North Karachi (all sectors), Manghopir Town, Qasba Town, Orangi Town (all sectors), and North Nazimabad (all blocks) will experience a complete gas supply suspension.

Additionally, the gas supply will be interrupted in Federal B Area (all blocks), Gulberg (including all blocks), Bufferzone, SITE Industrial Area, Baldia Town, Ittehad Town, and Mauri Pur. The central region areas like Gulshan-e-Maymar, Ahsanabad, Jhangara Goth, and SITE Super Highway will also face gas outages.

The spokesperson has urged consumers in these regions to arrange alternative fuel sources during the temporary shutdown to avoid inconvenience. The maintenance is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the gas supply and pressure for Karachi’s diverse consumer base
