PM Shahbaz Sharif Announce Public Holidays On the Occasion of Ashura Day(Ashura) has been announced as a holiday on the occasion of Muharram-ul-Haram with the approval of the Federal Cabinet by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.According to this notification, 16th and 17th of July will be public holiday in government and private sector across Pakistan.

In continuation of Cabinet Division’s circular No. 10-2/2023-Min-II dated 20th December, 2023 listing public and optional holidays for the year 2024, the Prime Minister has been pleased to declare 16th and 17th July, 2024 (Tuesday & Wednesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (9th & 10th Moharram 1446 AH).
