Punjab Launches Green Electro Bus Service Under CM Maryam Nawaz’s Initiative Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the Electro Bus Service, a groundbreaking initiative under the Chief Minister’s Green Initiative. The project aims to promote eco-friendly public transport while ensuring accessibility for differently-abled individuals.

In the first phase, 27 electro buses will be launched, equipped with designated seating for 17,000 wheelchair users daily. Additionally, a 1MW solar system covering 30 kanals will be installed at the bus depot, supporting the sustainable energy needs of the transport system. The Chung Depot will serve as the primary hub, where infrastructure, including bus shelters and facilities, is being developed.
This initiative is spearheaded by the Punjab Transport Company in collaboration with the Government of Punjab, aligning with the vision of a “Green, Clean, and Beautiful Punjab.”
