A budget of Rs 310 million has been allocated under the ‘She Threads’ program, an initiative of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. It is a unique program launched by the Chief Minister of Punjab to promote economic independence and skills of rural women.Under the Chief Minister of Punjab’s She Threads program, middle-class women aged 18 to 45 from villages across the province can participate, which will prove to be very useful.The main feature of this program is that the women involved in the program will be provided with a monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000 and a transport allowance during the training.
Currently, textile training is underway for 1,150 women under the She Threads program, while another 1,350 women will be trained next year.
