Punjab Government’s Commitment to Protecting Minority Rights On the Occasion of Minorities Day, the Govt of Punjab, under the leadership of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has launched a comprehensive program dedicated to safeguarding the rights of minority communities livinig in Punjab. This initiative is designed (aim ) to promote interfaith harmony, inclusivity, and equal opportunities for all religious and ethnic groups in the province.

The Govt has significantly raised the budget for minority rights by 610%, bringing the total allocation to 366 million PKR. This substantial increase reflects the administration’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of minority communities.The program includes various development projects aimed at improving the living conditions and infrastructure within minority communities. This includes the construction and renovation of religious sites, community centers, and educational institutions.

Budgets on Multiple Affairs

Special financial packages are being offered to support the most vulnerable individuals within minority communities. This assistance is targeted at providing better healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.To promote peace and harmony, the government is organizing interfaith conferences and dialogues, fostering understanding and cooperation among different religious groups.

The government has allocated funds for the construction of 4,000 houses, including 3,000 in South Punjab and 1,000 in Central Punjab. Additionally, 30 million PKR is designated for the rehabilitation of churches and temples, along with 30 million PKR for the construction of 1100 boundary walls to ensure security.
